How to Attach Hair Wefts & Top Closures?

CopyFrom: Author:Vivian DateTime:2013-03-31 Hits:1733

Top closures are special hair pieces that used to apply onto the front and top of head for hair losers. Strands of hair are attached first to a small hair cap that imitates your scalp. The top closures allows you to part hair on top and front of your head. This makes your hair weave look more natural. Attaching top closures is easy.

Top closures are used at the end of the gluing process. Confusion may occured any obvious difference between glue-in hair wefts and sew-in hair extensions. Top closures are always placed at the crown or front of the head after hair wefts are glued-in for a uniform whole head of hair look. The lace that closure hair is attached to is flesh-toned, giving the appearance of a natural growth of hair from the top of the scalp. Due to the infusion of weaft hair with scalp hair required for sew-ins, separate top closures are not necessary. Without lace closures however, glued-in hair appears to sit on top of scalp hair for an incomplete hairstyle and an unnatural look.
Things You Need to prepare in advance:
Comb,lace closure top closures,Sewing needle

1.Create cornrows in your natural hair. Comb the hair straight back and start creating small braids from the front to the back of the head. The braids should be small and lay flat on your head.
Create a removable weave cap. Gluing hair wefts and top closures onto a cap prevents the glue from pulling at your hair upon removal -- and decreases the chances of allergic skin reactions.

2.Leave the top of the head open when sewing in the hair extensions. This is where the hair top closures will be sewn in.
Put a weave cap onto a wig head, so that you can ensure that the hair is being glued-on evenly. As the hair is glued on the cap, so it will appear on your head.
3.Place the top closure on top of head. It should stretch over the top of the crown on the head.
Apply a thin layer of glue to the edge of your hair wefts. Thick glue can stain the hair weft.
4.Use a sewing needle and thread to start sewing the top closure to the cornrows on top of your head. Sew in and out of the cornrow braids and through the hair closure. Slowly make a circle until you get to the center of the closure.
Apply the hair wefts to the cap from left to right -- beginning at the nape of the neck -- and move up. Cut off the ends of the weft that extend past the hairline, until you get to the level of the ears. Layer the wefts close together to prevent gaps
5.Knot the thread off and cut it off. Gently comb through the closure and part it as you desire.

6.Glue the hair in a circular fashion from the left ear to the right ear around the forehead to the left temple. This will ensure a layer of hair will be in front of your closure, so the lace top closure hair will have some hair to blend into at the front of your head.

7.Glue subsequent hair wefts in a semi-circular fashion. Glue these wefts up to the temple so the forehead hair does not appear too thick. Leave a circle about the size of your closure at the top of the cap bare.

8.Squirt or drizzle a thin layer of glue to the bare circle at the top of your cap. Apply your lace closure. The closure hair will blend with the glued hair wefts for a natural looking scalp effect.
